Internet Explorer tabs freezing or open slowly
If you find that your tabs open slowly, try some of these troubleshooting steps: First and foremost, check if you have a bad add-on. Run Internet Explorer in No Add-ons mode and see if makes a difference. If it does, then it’s probably one of your add-ons creating a problem. Through Internet Options > Manage Add-ons, you can enable/disable each add-on to identify which, if any, add-on is creating problems. You may also want to monitor your browser add-ons and disable those which may be hitting performance. Do you have a Java Plug-In’s SSV Helper 2 plugin installed? It is known to cause such delays. Disable it and see if it helps. Do you use Spybot? Or have you added many websites to the Restricted Zone? Remove all sites added by Spybot’s Immunize. To do so, open regedit > Navigate to the following key: Delete the following sub-folders:
DomainsEscDomains,Ranges
Next, go to this key: Delete the sub-folder
History
Do the same for this key: Also try the following, if you are still perplexed. From an elevated Command Prompt window, Run the following command: This re-registers the ActiveX Interface Marshaling Library. As the last option you may want to Reset Internet Explorer. Hope something helps! Now read: Internet Explorer freezes, crashes, hangs.
