How to sync Google Drive and Google Photos

You can back up and sync your files with your Mac or Windows computer using the Google Backup and Sync tool. To do so: Let’s proceed further.

1] Download Google Backup and Sync Tool to your PC

Google Backup and Sync offers the most reliable way to protect the files and photos that mean the most to you. It replaces the existing Google Photos Desktop uploader and Drive for PC/Mac. The tool backs up files and photos safely in Google Drive and Google Photos, so they’re no longer located on your computer and other devices. If you have not yet downloaded Backup and Sync, download it to your PC.

Sign in with your Google account (Email ID and Password).

2] Grant Permission to access photos

Once you have downloaded the app and installed it, run the app and if prompts for permission to access your photos grant the permission.

3] Add photos to Google folder

The app will install a folder on your computer called Google Drive. You can simply drag photos and documents onto the folder to sync its contents with Google Drive on Google’s servers.

You can also select folders from your computer to continuously backup to Google Drive. You can find the photos in the ‘Computers’ tab at drive.google.com.

Hereafter, any changes you make to this folder will be reflected on your PC will be reflected in Google Drive. This means that the photos you upload to one service, and any changes you make to them will reliably show up in the other place, synced to your account.
